Behind the scenes of the Memphis capsule collection

Today, I'm delighted to share with you a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process that brought our new Memphis capsule collection to life.

The Italian design of the Memphis movement, founded in Milan in the early '80s by Ettore Sottsass, has always been a source of inspiration for me. This explosion of kitsch patterns, pop colors and asymmetrical shapes brought a breath of whimsy and eccentricity to the design world, and continues to be admired by designers and brands the world over.

The spark that ignited this collection came from the recent "Années 80. Mode, design & graphisme" at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Seeing these iconic pieces from the Memphis movement, I felt an irrepressible urge to translate them into a micro-series of patches in pop colors, ultra-graphic style and playful geometric shapes.

To bring this vision to life, I started by creating a moodboard, an inspiration board of inspiring images. I invite you to discover my moodboard for the Memphis collection on our Pinterest page, and to follow us so you don't miss anything behind the scenes of our creations!

At the same time, I began my quest for upcycled materials and leathers. My two Parisian suppliers, who offer end-of-stock skins from luxury houses, enabled me to choose high-quality leathers while taking part in an environmentally responsible approach. It was important to me to reuse materials already produced rather than create new ones.

Once the materials had been carefully selected, I gave free rein to my creativity by sketching and making paper models. This is how I defined the shapes of the patches and their assembly on our bags. To bring my ideas to life, I then translated these models into technical drawings, which I colorized with passion.

After finalizing all the details, I sent the materials and technical files to our manufacturer, with palpable excitement at the prospect of seeing our collection take shape.

The long-awaited moment finally arrived when we received the collection! Through our visuals and graphics, we told the story of this captivating collection on our social networks. Seeing all the work we've done come to life before the eyes of our community was a great achievement, and made us very happy.
